The board was actually a lot of work to line out and paint. The letters (on old manila folders) were easy enough to make (and are reusable). Once the board was up, I’d add a “word” every day or so. It was a neat way to engage the kids, as they offered ideas. I really love Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). They have many great tools for kids. Many of the “words” here are acronyms for the skills we hope our kids will develop. FAST, for example is a reminder to be Fair to yourself, don’t over-Apologize, Stick to your values and be Truthful.
