Haring DBT

One of my regular activities with kids is a Keith Haring project, thanks to Kathy Barbro of Art Projects for Kids, that usually goes over well.  After doing the project one week, I used his style for one of our bulletin boards.  Haring’s work often appeals to teens for his underground beginnings. Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) is one of our main therapies where I work.  Art has many applications in helping kids understand this modality.  Among them are building skills to self manage, creating pleasing activities, imagery, relaxation, self soothe, expression and building mastery.
